The much missed Cork to Swansea ferry makes a welcome return in March 2010 as the service resumes after a lengthy absence.
The new operators, Fastnet Line, are owned by numerous small investors who have refurbished 'The Julia' ferry ready for commencement of the service. The ship is equipped with bars, restaurants, cinema and a childrens area. There are also cabins and kennels available on board.
The ten hour overnight journey will run up to eight times a week, leaving Cork at 2100 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The journey from Swansea leaves at 2100 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Discounted tickets for this service are available now from Cork Ferries
The route is ideal for Irish passengers travelling into Wales or on into England with easy access to the M4 motorway allowing fast onward connections. The Irish will also benefit from the present value of the euro against the pound. The new crossing is sure to be popular with those travelling to the Republic of Ireland from the UK for their holidays.
