Project Natel for Xbox 360 may still not have been given a release date in the UK yet, but everyone is still asking and thinking about what it will be capable of when it finally gets released.

What is Project Natal?

For those not familiar with Project Natal it is the code name for a "controller free gaming and entertainment experience" (Microsoft quote) the Xbox 360 video game console.  Available as an add on accessory it will enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller (think Nintendo Wii on another level).  By moving, using gestures and speaking you will be able to control and interact with games like never before.

What will Project Natal Do?

Many people are excited about the different kinds of games that will be able to work with Project Natal once it comes out.  Obviously certain game genres will suit better than others.  For example like the Wii exercise games should work really well without the need to hold or be restricted by a controller it could take exercise games to a whole new level.  Then think about sport games, image playing football in your living room without the need to pick a ball, or basketball without the need to install and put up a net.  The possibilities are endless and down to the games developers imagination and hardware restrictions.

One of the reasons that made the Nintendo Wii so popular could give a new lease of life to the Xbox 360 which although may be doing very well at the moment with the likes of Modern Warfare 2 it could still do with an extra selling point or two over its closest rival the PS3.
