Paddy Power today announced the launch of a new holiday protection product which will help safeguard UK holidaymakers against the volcanic ash cloud threat that has disruted many Uk and Irish airports. 

With some holiday insurance not covering for the effects of the volcanic ash this new idea from Paddy Power allows holiday makers to place a bet on a specific Uk or Irish airport on the event that it will close for at least a one hour period due to the efefcts of the volcanic ash on any given date between 1st June 2010 and 31st August 2010.

Odds vary from 10/1 to 25/1 depending on the chosen airport and date selected, by placing a £20 bet at odds of 20/1 you would expect a return of £400 plus your initial stake of £20 making it a viable alternative to cover you where your insurance may not.
