ATLANTIS DOWN stars Michael Rooker (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, JFK, The Bone Collector, Jumper, Cliffhanger), Dean Haglund (The X-Files: series and Film, Spectres, The Lone Gunmen), and Greg Travis (Starship Troopers, Watchmen, Showgirls).
In the year 2025, the Space Shuttle has been relegated to a “transport vehicle” -- a glorified taxi, carrying military and scientific personnel and equipment back and forth between Earth and its orbiting space stations.
While on a routine mission, transporting Dr Sarah Jenkins to an observation outpost, the ship encounters two flashing bursts of light, shutting down its instrumentation and leaving the craft powerless and adrift in space. When the crew attempt to repair the damage, there is a third blinding flash of light… and Travis Black, the rookie Tech Officer, finds himself alone in the ship, with no other crew members anywhere, and no idea what has occurred.
This is Max Bartoli’s first feature following on the multi-award winning Ignotus (New York International Film & Video Festival – Best Short Film, San Fernando Valley International Film Festival – Best Foreign Language). Max Bartoli said “This has been an amazing film to work on for my main feature debut. We had a shoestring budget, and filming over only 13 days. As well as a great story and a cast full of excellence, and 225 terrific CGI shots, Atlantis Down has been a terrific journey. I am delighted that we can now sit and see what we have created”.
Director Max Bartoli and actor Dean Haglund will be on hand to introduce the movie and tell us about its inception, filming and future prior to screening.
Tickets are available by calling 0871 220 6000 and online at www.sci-fi-london.com.
