The Nintendo Wii was launched in 2006, taking over from the nintendo gamecube. The wii is quite different from other games consoles such as the xbox360 and the ps3. Instead of focusing on graphical power the Nintendo Wii will change the way people play games. The system is unique in that the console's controller, dubbed the 'wii-mote', can be used as a handheld pointing device as well as detecting motion in all three dimensions. With Wii, Nintendo changes the way you play by maximising the fun and minimising the fuss. This consol is not just for the young generation but for all ages alike. The unique Wii Remote gives parents and grandparents a chance to play games with or without, their children. It gives gamers and traditional non-gamers a chance to share the same experiences in this new generation of gaming. Its unique controller means you can actually swing the golf club or fight with the sword instead of just pushing buttons
The Wii can also be connected wirelessly to the internet. Wii doesn't only play games, it can bring you BBC iPlayer, the latest news, weather reports and game downloads; plus you can send text messages and swap data with other Wii owners online.
Using the SD Card Slot on the front of Wii, you can see pictures you have taken with your digital camera or mobile phone on your TV screen. With the easy-to-use software, you can easily select, enlarge, and reduce the size of your photos. In addition, there is a full array of other ways to enjoy your photos, such as scribbling messages on them and turning them into puzzles.
The Wii also has a varied selection of accessories. The Zapper, The Wheel, The Club and The Sword, all to make the remote feel more like the instrument you are playing with.
You can also excersise at home now with games like Wii Fit and Wii Yoga.
This console is available in both black and white.
