Nokia normally ships its mobile phones across Europe by trucks and on ships as well as by air. However, a substantial part of its deliveries are sourced from Asia. Nokia expectedly, is monitoring closely the developments and working in close collusion with other logistics partners to lessen the impact in terms of delay.
According to a Nokia spokeswoman some material deliveries may occur later On the other hand, Sony Ericsson expects some of its mobile phones shipments to suffer delays because of cancelled flights. The company's press spokesman Mr Aldo Liguori informed that his company is relocating deliveries to open airports near the intended destinations and then transferring the goods by trucks.
