A few pointers to add to the Nokia N900 review. Firstly as all of will know that when looking at a keyboard the space bar is always aligned in the middle of a keyboard. If you look at other smartphones out there with slide out keyboards or keyboard on front you will see the space bar centred in then middle of the device on the bottom row of keys. But with The Nokia N900 many seem to disappointed with where the space bar is. Give it time, start texting and emailing and you'll soon see your thumb adjusting and getting use to the space bar position.
The big upside to the Nokia N900 is it operating system, Maemo 5 which is Linux based opposite to the Windows environment that were all too familiar with. Now this operating system has been vastly improved by Nokia themselves. People want to run multiple applications themselves. They want to be able to flick from one to the other with out closing and opening applications like with the iPhone. Look at the Android systems an you'll know what I mean by that. You're listening to music then up pops a text message then that leads to open Facebook. With the Apple iPhone you can't have Facebook open and then be texting some too. With the Nokia N900 you can start and stop several applications without closing anything completely down.
The Maemo 5 interface could be compared to the likes of the Android platform, in that you have several homes screens which you can flick between. On each home screens it's up to you how you set them up. With the continued growing application from Nokia and other 3rd parties you can customise the Nokia N900 phone to suit your needs. From Facebook, Twitter, Google Mail to Amazon apps. The choice is yours. You can even bookmark your favourite websites on these pages so it's a one click launch on to your favourite website.
One of the other features that the Nokia N900 has focused upon apart from your music and video collection is the Internet radio function. Nokia have done well to develop this application that use 3G or Wi-Fi. With a growing directory of over 500+ stations you're bound to find a few of your favourites' on here.
The Nokia N900 is a great smartphone too have. Don't worry if you haven't used a smartphone before as we all to well know that Nokia phones in general are easy to use and if there's something new in which something on the phone is done, it just takes a bit of getting use to.
