Motorola DextGiven the size of the device the Motorola Dext keyboard is just the right size and easy to use. The keys are slightly raised from the outer edges to the middle of the button. It’s a nice simple layout with 3 rows of keys with 4 dedicated keys split around the space bar button. The main feature of this keyboard is the so called D-pad on the left. Now the only downfall here is that depending on your preferences you may or may not like it on the left and thus may need to getting used to. But overall the where the D-pad is, is just a small thing and after typing texts, emails or updating Facebook & Twitter your thumb/fingers will get use to the layout and the keys.

Now as the smart phone market is geared up for touch screen phones there are still those that prefer to actual type with the aid of a physical keyboard. The Motorola Dext provides both options. You can touch away to check your social updates from the home screen. Then when you want to reply or message simple turn the handset and slide out the keyboard and go straight into typing mode.

Motorola has grabbed the whole social networking buzz with its Motoblur. In the same way HTC have the Sense interface and just recently Vodafone launched its Vodafone 360 application brand. Motorola can’t just rely on the Google Android operating system to help sort the software. Apart from the hardware its user interface will ultimately decide whether to make or break the handset. This is the makeup which people will see and use which will be slapped on above the Goggle Android system which will be working in the background.

The other main point to talk about is the ability and easy of use that Motorola have made for the Motorola Dext to be completely customised. For a start with the help of Motoblur you have vastly customised your mobile phone to include all your social networking profiles. But to really finish of customising you Motorola Dext you have the option to set your home screens yourself. There are 5 customisable pages to fill with folders, shortcuts, favourites, bookmarks, widgets and contacts too. The choice is yours; you could have 5 different screens dedicated to you, friends, family, work and play etc. With the Motorola Dext, its you that decides.
