On the 25th October 2010, the first-ever humberMUD Expo in Hull is screening the unique British film, Sean Vincent and Andre Renner’s

 SHOOT THE DJ.

This film features a huge amount of new music as it was made by an independent record label, 'Sonic-Hub Records'.

All the music was either written, produced or performed by the film-makers themselves.

SHOOT THE DJ features appearances from Kim Wilde, Normski, Joel Edwards (Deepest Blue) and major roles are played by Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley and Ricky Wilde.

The film took part at Cannes Film Festival and the director is traveling around Europe, America and Asia in order to meet the audience.

Story:

Sean, Dan and Rick run a small record label. 5 years ago Sean and Dan had a hit record. A couple of years later they had another one (although most of the credit went to the remixer). They have been living it up ever since making an ok living from doing DJ sets in clubs all over the country as well as abroad.

Lately, the money has run out. They are racking up debts and the label is struggling with little or no success in commercial terms. They realise they are becoming a less bankable act and decide to take action to bring in some much needed cash.

They find a recipe for fake cocaine on the internet and successfully make a lot of it. They then go on a tour of clubs around the country doing DJ sets while selling their fake coke to unsuspecting dealers. While they are away, Rick releases their latest tune and it does well...really well. Suddenly it's all over the charts. Sean and Dan don't realise what is happening and don't twig that the good reception their sets are getting is down to this new release they are unaware of.

Eventually they find out and have to home to face the music...which turns out to be an angry Rick and an even angrier drug dealer called Eddie Richards. They need to find a way to capitialise on their new success without letting all the people they ripped-off track them down
