The charges for Home Information Packs (HIPs) were pointless, expensive and encouraged lots of negatives from inspectors and unprofessional estate agents.

Since May 18th 2010 the government has officially scrapped the use of all Home Information Packs to save money in their on-going cost saving exercises.

According to findaproperty.com 28,041 properties came on to the market in the final days of May, a rise of six per cent after HIPs were abolished.

With on-going problems like the cuts in public spending, major job losses, and the BP oil spill have all had a far more significant dampening effect on consumer spending, at the top of which stand houses.

As a whole transaction levels are now set to rise from the all time lows that the market has been experiencing recently. He went on to say “I hope that this will bring the UK economy a welcome break from all of the negative news that has been going on for a long time now. If the property market can see some positive growth then there will be even more positives to come as it is where everything stems from”.
