Okay so we’ve seen the spec for the HTC HD2. Now let’s take a closer look. At first glance it’s the size of the screen which scares most people as people don’t want to be seen with a big phone. The screen may be the biggest on the mart to date at 4.3 inches but fear not. HTC have done well to keep the size of the device to a minimum. Take the rounded edges and the rubbery matt finish on the back. In the middle of the back is the battery cover this is a metal coated finish. It this kind of little touches and the fact that it measures just over 1cm in thickness makes it a worth while buy.
Looking at the HTC HD2 you will notice that it doesn’t have a dedicated camera button as most phones do. The fact of the matter is it doesn’t really need one. It’s got a giant 4.3 inch screen so the button will appear on the side of the screen. The HTC HD2 is one of the first Windows Mobile phones to have a dual light on the back for the camera. This should help in night time conditions.
Underneath the hardware this is one of the latest devices to feature the Windows Mobile 6.5 edition operating system. As we all know by using our desktop pc’s and laptops that the Windows environment can be a little bit boring. As in earlier phones the mobile version copied the lists menu structure. But wait Microsoft have stood up and taken note of the competition from the likes of Google Android and the iPhone.
The appearance and functionality of the menus is a great improvement. The programs and applications are actual icons similar to that of the Goggle Androids and the iPhone setup. But what HTC have done is improved that a bit future by giving the device a makeover with its HTC Sense masking.
It’s smoother to guide round the menus and switch between applications. The HTC Sense is all about making your phone truly yours. You can have instant access and updates on the home page from your Facebook account. You can set your favourite websites on the home page to so it’s a one touch launch. The HTC HD2 comes with “HTC Peep” which is HTC’s Twitter application. Do you enjoy watching videos on YouTube then there a application built in so you can dive straight into viewing mode.
