It's less than 10 days to go until Halloween now so we're officially on the final countdown! Now is the time to stop up on last minute halloween chocolates and treats for the hoards of Halloween Trick or Treaters you're bound to have knock on your door! There's some really nice chocolates to choose from if that's what you like best, or lots of delicious sweets and lollies that are bound to go down well!
Whilst there's often accusations that Trick or Treating is an American tradition it seems to be one that UK children especially love! Dressing up has always been a favourite and with the chance to get lots of yummy sweets thrown in it was always bound to be a firm favourite.
Suggestions for trick or treaters going out is to ensure that the children are wrapped up warm, that they are supervised by an adult and that they have something to carry their sweets in easily so they can pay attention to the roads without distraction. It's best if the children wait until they get home before eating their sweetie haul as to avoid littering the paths with lolly wrappers. Parents should take care to supervise carefully especially when crossing roads, as the majority of halloween costumes appear to be black and this makes them almost invisible on dark nights!
For people wanting to welcome trick or treaters the advice would be to display something in the window to show they are welcome. At Halloween Freebies there's a free sign people can print out to show they are happy to have people knock on, as well as one requesting no callers. This could stop you having to hide in the house from callers with the lights out on the 31st October!
