It won’t be long now before the whole of the UK has to go digital and analogue televisions will be no more. Not everyone can afford to get the best televisions that offer high definition viewing but there are now an increasing number of cheap HDTV’s available on the market.

One of the problems with talking about cheap televisions is that one man’s cheap is another person’s expensive. At the moment, Toshiba are offering an HDTV that is due to retail for around £450-600, Panasonic and Sony also have a variety of had models ready to go on sale and these vary in price, depending on the size screen that you prefer.

Toshiba is a well known name and has a proven track record in electronics so while the television may not be as cheap as you would like, most reviewers say the colours and images on the set are stunning.

High definition television is designed to bring you enhanced imagery and colour, similar, but not quite the same as the 3D viewing that most big companies are now working on. It is worth your while to shop around when you are looking for a cheap HDTV because there are some cheaper models, though not necessarily made by some of the household names.

There is a growing number of had flat screen televisions available on the market today. Some of the current flat screen had models are surprisingly cheap, but there is no way of knowing how these perform or how long they will last.

Computer shops such as PC world stock a number of different high definition televisions and you can even see them in some of the larger supermarkets. What you decide to buy will depend on what you want from your television set, and how much of your budget you will have to blow to get one.
