Château La Croix du Mayne AC 2006

AC in the name is short for appellation controlee, part of the French system that classifies wines according to their geographical origin and controls strictly the rules defining the region of production, permitted grape varieties and yields, and sometimes alcohol and sugar levels of the wine too. Sometimes the wines have to be approved by a tasting panel too.

Château Pierrousselle AC 2007 is an intense dark purple red in colour. It has a complex nose giving you both spice and delicious mouthwatering black fruit aromas. The blackberry fruit notes are well rounded and the wine has a good finish.. Bottled at the Château Pierrousselle. Owner is Michel Lafon. Vineyard has 43 hectares and the vines are 25 years old (on average).

Château La Salargue AC 2006 is again a full red in colour with a lovely black cherry nose with deep hints of spice. The owner is Bruno Le roy. Bottled at the Château La Salargue.

Château Bellevue AC 2006 has an amazing intense garnet red colour. Delicious to drink with it's soft and woody flavours with hints of cacao, vanilla, laurel and red fruit. A mild but warming wine with a good balance of fruit and spice. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The owner is Gfr De Ponton D’Amecourt.

Château De Cappes AC 2007 is a very intense garnet red wine, bursting with berries and hints of vanilla. Full-bodied and powerful with lots of yummy berry fruit and liquorice flavours. An excellent mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The owner is Mr. Boulin.

Château De Balan AC 2007 is a garnet red wine with purple reflections. An intense nose with delicate hints of cassis, herbs, laurel and complex fruit-driven aromas. Smooth round taste and a beautiful wine that absolutely must be decanted before drinking. This blend is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Château La Croix du Mayne AC 2006 is a scrumptious fruity wine with a beautiful garnet red colour. Having a complex nose, with delightful aromas of red fruit and hints of cacao.
