20 October 2010 – The best video, 'a superhero’s car?' entered by Tim Bunn, from Middlesex, has won the first Carrentals.co.uk online video competition. The lucky winner collected a 16GB Apple iPad for reaching the top spot.
The online competition began five months ago, whereby the public could enter free of charge into the challenge, with 90 second videos about cars. The YouTube channel for Carrentals.co.uk had the videos judged and the top three videos were chosen for prizes.
After the announcement of the victory, Tim the winner said: “I've never entered a competition before, and for my first time at winning and it being an iPad, is amazing!”.
All of the videos can be watched on the Carrentals.co.uk YouTube channel called CarrentalsCarHire. As well as Tim's 'a superhero’s car?', there is 2nd place 'Mini Motorhead (who claimed £50 worth of John Lewis vouchers), and third places 'My Ride' (which bagged £25 shopping vouchers).
The Managing Director for Carrentals.co.uk, Mr Gareth Robinson mentioned: “There were some very well-thought out videos which were entered, very funny ones too. Our YouTube page has been a great hit and we'd like to thank everyone that produced a video. Our congratulations goes to Tim, as his video was a worthy winner and very creatively put together”.
The comparison site, Carrentals.co.uk, compares the best prices and deals from 50 rental car companies, including Sixt, Holiday Autos, Budget, Auto Europe and Alamo, and in more than 10,000 different cities around the world.
The latest deals for hire cars can be found at www.carrentals.co.uk.
