Bristol based 24 hour telephone answering company, Office Response Ltd, have launched an online survey to research how people use Voicemail.

Current winners of Bristol’s Business of the Year Award, the company decided to conduct the survey to challenge perceptions about what people expect when leaving messages.

Steve West, Marketing and Business Development Manager, said "At Office Response we like to challenge things - we find it helps us to continuously improve our services. So, when I recently heard someone pontificating that "80% of people wont leave messages on voicemail" it made me wonder where that information actually came from. It is a well used phrase in the call centre industry and lots of our competitors have the statement on their website as a way of highlighting the benefits of telephone answering services. However, no-one seems to know exactly what research was undertaken or by whom."

To incentivise people to take part in the survey Office Response will be giving one lucky respondent an iPod Touch. "Once we have compiled the results we will publish them so that everyone can share the information. We are hoping that by offering a prize of an iPod Touch for answering 10 quick questions will prompt a lot of people to get involved."
