Following the success of the now closed boiler scrappage scheme in England which saw 125,000 grants of £400 for the replacement of old boilers, the Scottish Government and the Energy Saving Trust are launching a similar boiler scrappage scheme in Scotland that opens for applications from Monday 24th May 2010.
As a contribution to CO2 emission reductions, The Energy Saving Scotland Boiler Scrappage Scheme will give grants, by way of vouchers to the value of £400, to 5,000 households who upgrade from old G-rated boilers to new energy efficient A-rated boilers, as recommended by the Energy Saving Trust.
Applications for the vouchers can be made at the Energy Saving Trust's Scottish Boiler Scrappage Scheme site.
