When the popular Chelsea club, Public, wanted to upgrade their floor finish in their bar area they turned to National Flooring for advice on a resin floor finish. The building which is situated in an old antiques warehouse required an industrial looking, durable floor finish to complement the industrial glam surroundings.
Throughout the entire club the décor is very distinctive and unlike any other club in the area. The bespoke design focuses strongly on the clubs industrial setting and incorporates unique elements including, exposed brick walls, iron beams and a stunningly lit copper bar. The club owners deliberated on the floor finishes available to them and having discussed their requirements with National Flooring it was decided that the Degafloor QT system would be ideal for the area.
The Degafloor QT system is a blend of resin and quartz which is trowel applied to provide an extremely durable and functional floor. The client decided to go ahead using two different shades of grey to help create a subtle blend to enhance the industrial setting.
Public which has a capacity of 429 has the bar area situated at the entrance of the club. The concrete floor which had previously been painted could not withstand the high footfall levels. The Degafloor QT system offers exceptional durability and will provide years of trouble free use.
The system which is hand trowelled was installed by National Flooring’s trained and experienced operatives over two nights at the beginning of the week when the club is closed. The system is fully cured within just two hours; therefore members of staff at the club could continue their daily activities as usual the following day.
